What is Walkshop?

Walkshop is our old conventional photowalk redesigned to ensure effective end to end learning. Walkshop is structured with three sessions – Conceptual, Practical and Review. While the conceptual and review sessions are done online, Practical sessions are always offline. Walskhop is a project based approach and focused to create a body of work that can be added to your portfolio.

Why this Course?

The ability to convert an idea into a well designed body of work is most essential for any level of artist. Many a times, we miss to create impact due to an ill-managed art project.  In photography, whether you are building your portfolio or delivering a client assignment, Project Management Skills play major role to achieve the desired output. Still it remains a very less discussed topic in Photography industry.

The primary focus of this course is set to "Pre-Process" and "Edit". These two terms are generally misinterpreted in practice. We must understand the true function of these two important phases of a project.

Pre-Process is the planning part. The things we do before the actual shoot is broadly referred as Pre-Process. It is mostly neglected in untrained practices that causes poor shot selection, lack of penetration and week communication.  The term "Edit" is also widely mistaken as image correction or grading. Edit is the post-shoot organization part ensuring order, narration flow, synchronization etc.

Walkshop is project based practical course. The participants need to take a project and execute within the course period. The resulting body of works will be supported with exhibition/ebook/blog - whichever fits the best.  The long term goal of the course is to make you knowledgeable and confident to plan and execute your next Photography Project yourself.
