This misconception often stops photographers to create impactful presentation of their body of work. Edit is not image correction or processing. It's the process of selection and organization to create a presentable flow of images from the rush. Needless to say, this is seriously important for any active commercial or independent photographer who has some series of works and working with new projects regularly. You must seat with your "Edit Board" multiple times and come up with excellent editing ideas each and every time!

Editing is like creating a garland of flowers. It has several functional sections that creates wonderful variations which contributes highly to the overall mood and presentation of the photographs. Unlike cinema format, where the system has a dedicated editor to support director's vision, in photography the common practice is the edit be done by photographer himself. If you are serious about your photography, you must build excellent editing skills to create the desired impact.
